Can I apply for a Vietnam e-Visa if I have a criminal record?
Yes, it is possible for most international travelers to get a Vietnam visa regardless of whether they have a history of criminal convictions. When applying for a Vietnam visa, a criminal record is usually not a problem. The electronic visa application form does not include any questions about previous crimes or convictions. Travelers are required to simply enter their personal information, passport, and contact details and state the date they plan to arrive in the country.
Recently, you don't have to wait in long queues at the Embassy to apply for a Vietnam visa. With just a smartphone, computer or laptop, you can apply for a Vietnam e-visa. You will need the following documents to apply for an e-visa to Vietnam:
- A passport valid for at least 6 months is required. The airline staff will stamp your passport upon arrival, so your national passport must have at least two blank pages.
- Passport photo in any format taken within the last three months on a white background, with a clear face and no glasses.
- A debit or credit card is required to make a payment.
- A valid email address must be provided in order to receive a visa online.
If your request does not meet the requirements for Vietnam e-Visa requirements, you can apply for a paper visa at the Vietnam Embassy. Before applying, do some research on the Embassy's location.
